Medical Treatment for Acne Scars?
I have just a few acne scars there, and though i can live with them, i would really like to get rid of them. Is there any medication, such as an over-the-counter product that can remove acne scars, or even a certain cream or pill that is especaily made to rid acne scars. While Cocoa butter has proven to treat scars, there are other ways that are more costly to do it - like laser treatment.
Personally, whenever I break out and the acne starts going down, I moistutrize every night and then put on a thin layer of Vasaline which conditions the skin.
Even when I had a lot of break outs, I put vasaline on - because it treats cuts and infections (a pimple is really like a skin infection, so the vasaline makes the swelling go down). Just becarefull when you go to sleep that you dont get vasaline on your pillow...If you use it enough, your skin will stay conditioned and you won't break out as much (if your skin tends to dry out, it over produces oil, so make sure you stay moisturized even while your treating breakouts.)

Go to Walgreens or any drug store and look in the skin care section. Look for Benzoyl Peroxide Gel. I will swear on my mother's grave that this stuff works. I should know, I've been to the dermentologist so many times it should be illegal. I had to go through accutane....it worked wonders, but I still have the occasional mini-outbreak.
The only downside to using the gel is that it can make your skin dry. That can be easily fixed with moisturizer.
....I think the gel costs like 5 bucks or so....it's really cheap...which is great....

Have a chemical peel performed. This is a good treatment for very light acne scarring. Different types of acid are applied to the top layer of the skin. The acid is then removed about 15 minutes later. Again this will remove the top damaged layers of the epidermis. Redness and swelling is common after the procedure. Depending on the amount of acid applied, recovery time can take from a day to a couple of weeks.

The reddish pigmentation will fade with time... not sure if you can do much to speed this up however.
