Medical Treatment for Acne Scars?
I have just a few acne scars there, and though i can live with them, i would really like to get rid of them. Is there any medication, such as an over-the-counter product that can remove acne scars, or even a certain cream or pill that is especaily made to rid acne scars. While Cocoa butter has proven to treat scars, there are other ways that are more costly to do it - like laser treatment.
Personally, whenever I break out and the acne starts going down, I moistutrize every night and then put on a thin layer of Vasaline which conditions the skin.
Even when I had a lot of break outs, I put vasaline on - because it treats cuts and infections (a pimple is really like a skin infection, so the vasaline makes the swelling go down). Just becarefull when you go to sleep that you dont get vasaline on your pillow...If you use it enough, your skin will stay conditioned and you won't break out as much (if your skin tends to dry out, it over produces oil, so make sure you stay moisturized even while your treating breakouts.)

FOR ACNE SCARS:
Completely getting rid of acne scars takes a long time. Getting rid of scars isn't very easy.
Squeezing or picking at acne can damage the skin tissue around the acne. This can lead to the scarring that is such a concern for many people.

Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably less swollen. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.
Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies. Becareful it might make your skin dry. If your skin gets dry use a moisturizer lotion.
Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.
Apply fresh lemon juice on the affected area overnight. Wash off with warm water next morning. This might also make your skin dry.
Drink plenty of water.
Pimple Removal : (only do this on pimples that have formed a head)
Prepare for a small surgical pimple removing procedure. You'll need a small sewing needle, a bottle of alcohol, some gauze (or a small band-aid), and some warm water. Some people think you'll need to run a needle through a flame. This isn't Dr. Quinn Medicine woman. Rubbing alcohol will do.
Wash your face and hands before attempting to pop the pimple. Washing your face and hands ensures that all makeup, oils, germs and bacteria are no longer near the pimple you're about to burst. The alcohol will kill most of the bacteria in and around the wound, helping you to avoid an infected pimple. What ive heard to do is apply acv(apple cider vinegar, u can buy it at ur grocery store for under 2 bucks) and mix it half and half with warm water. FOR PIMPLES:
Other than washing your face a lot : (I recommend Clearasil Ultra. There is a 3 step system and it works great!)
Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably less swollen. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.
Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies. Becareful it might make your skin dry. If your skin gets dry use a moisturizer lotion.
Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.

Wash your face and hands before attempting to pop the pimple. Washing your face and hands ensures that all makeup, oils, germs and bacteria are no longer near the pimple you're about to burst. Also, dip a majority of the needle in the alcohol, and for safe measure apply some of that alcohol to your fingers and the pimple--dabbing with some gauze to dry the area.
Prick the white part of the pimple very lightly with the tip of your needle. Once you've done that, put two small squares of gauze on either side of the pimple and apply pressure with two fingers to ensure that the remaining puss is squeezed out of the pore, retaining pressure until clear liquid appears. When clear liquid or blood appears, you'll know the pimple is gone.
Wipe the pimple clean with an alcohol soaked gauze pad. It'll sting a little, but that's a good thing. The alcohol will kill most of the bacteria in and around the wound, helping you to avoid an infected pimple. If you wish, you can put a small, sterile bandaid on the area or cover it with an antibacterial concealer

Im a beauty therapist and working on many peoples skin over the years, Ive found that unfortunately acne scarring along with pigmentation is notoriously difficult to treat. Scars are best treated when they are pink or healing as a blood supply is still travelling to the skin cells, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the damaged skin. In this case a face oil, rich in essential fatty acids like argan oil, vitamin e or rose hip oil would be the best thing to help speed up the process of healing. Once the scar has totally healed the best thing you can do is keep up with good skin care to make the skin as smooth and healthy looking as possible. I'm 22 yrs old, asian with a medium/beige skintone. I've got slight but many acne scarring on one side of my cheek and the other side seem to have form keloids or hypertropic scars. How to stop Acne in its tracks:

1. Liquid soap on a sponge is better than cake soap.
2. The alcohol is available from the hardware store
Acne is caused by oil clogging pores in the skin. Attack this oil source and acne will be more easily to control. Diet also plays a part so lay off the rich foods.
The oil comes from your scalp under the hair. It creeps down your skin to clog pores. This is why the face and shoulders get acne.
To get rid of oil, wash your scalp with a good shampoo for oily scalp/hair, massaging your scalp and rinse off the oil. You should do this at least 25 times a month, meaning shower every day. You may want to include using a special scalp medical shampoo say 2-3 times per month (eg anti dandruff).
Note the shampoo is selected to get rid of oil, if your hair becomes dry, then use a conditioner to suit dry hair. You need to find a conditioner to suit the consequence of showering every day.
Shower and conditioner your hair first, and then wash the residue off your skin starting from the face and going down. It is important that you shampoo your scalp before the rest of your body, so that the oil is removed from your body afterwards.

How to stop Acne in its tracks:

1. Liquid soap on a sponge is better than cake soap.
2. The alcohol is available from the hardware store
Acne is caused by oil clogging pores in the skin. Attack this oil source and acne will be more easily to control. Diet also plays a part so lay off the rich foods.
The oil comes from your scalp under the hair. It creeps down your skin to clog pores. This is why the face and shoulders get acne.
To get rid of oil, wash your scalp with a good shampoo for oily scalp/hair, massaging your scalp and rinse off the oil. You should do this at least 25 times a month, meaning shower every day. You may want to include using a special scalp medical shampoo say 2-3 times per month (eg anti dandruff).
Note the shampoo is selected to get rid of oil, if your hair becomes dry, then use a conditioner to suit dry hair. You need to find a conditioner to suit the consequence of showering every day.
Shower and conditioner your hair first, and then wash the residue off your skin starting from the face and going down. It is important that you shampoo your scalp before the rest of your body, so that the oil is removed from your body afterwards.
Alcohol is a great sterilizing wipe to clean existing oils from your skin also, as some of the oils come from the skin. But don’t overdo it as could dry the skin.

Find the volcano centre part of the pimple by rolling the shank of a pin or needle across the pimple. Gently centre it in a squeeze then using the sterilized pin, prick the centre of the pimple. You may have to prick 3 to 5 mm deep at right angles to the skin, depending on the size of the pimple. The idea is to lance the pimple, to make a hole for the infection to come out. Squeeze the infection out of the hole, just like a volcano erupting. Because the skin has a hole, it is not tearing and there will be no scarring as long as you haven’t squeezed too hard. Remember the idea is to make a hole for it to come out, so the hole has to be accurate and into the infection core.
Any pimples that are difficult hit it with an Acne cream and try again the next day.
Sterilize the skin with alcohol.
With skill you can find these volcano centres under the skin before they are really noticeable. I suggest doing a pimple patrol on Wednesdays so you are cool for the weekend.

A mixture of honey and cucumber will DEFINITELY help. I haven't heard of aspirin though and since it is a pharmaceutical I would avoid putting it on my ski if I were you, just in case.

lemon juice on your face to dry out the skin,
wash your face with hot water, exfoliate, then splash with cold (no soap),
lavender oil for scarring,
zinc (or zinc cream) is excellent for anything skin related,
buttermilk is drying and that can help,
a steaming facial does wonders,

Hi.! People say ';oh cocoa butter helps';and ';vitamin E oil too'; but theyre people who usually just heard or learned about it.
Is there anyone that actually had acne scars all over and got clear,flawless skin withouth surgery? PLEASE help! I'm really really desperate.!Is there anyone here who had acne scars and then got clear skin later on????
yea, I used to have real bad acne, i mean BAD! I would pop my pimples, scrub my face with alcohol and peroxide, but later found out that I wasn't suppose to do none of that, lol! I got on minocycline for about 2 months and did the tropical and the recommended facial wash and was left with having clear acne free skin w/ scars, ugh, i was so over it, so this may sound a lil crazy/ghetto, lol! but Miracle Whip, yes the shyt you use to make ham n cheese sandwiches with!! It really works! I started doing it every day and then started once or twice a week, but this is what i did;
-Wake up, thank tha Lord for another day, lol!
-Brush my teeth and wash my face with HOT water, to open up the pores..
-Run downstairs (hello, workout!) to the fridge and get out the MIRACLE WHIP, run back up stairs and apply a thin layer on my face..
-I usually walk around and start looking for me something to wear and set it out on my bed, just to waist time, b/c I usually leave it on for at least 15-20 minutes..
-Get in the shower, wash it off, followed by my normal ';Green Tea Facial Wash'; and boom, healthy glowing, flawless milky looking skin!
The ladies at work be hating on my skin, they be tryin ta lick they finger to see if I got makeup on, but long story short, it works, try it out tonite and email me ta tell me about it..

just want to add this stuff REALLY works. i am astonished with how good my skin looks! i use it everyday and look forward to it! highly recommend it and you cant beat the $3 price tag. Report Abuse

Does Bio oil work on acne scars??? =S?
My flatmate swears by it. I had mild acne a couple of years ago and it left some scars. i used tee tree oil (from superdrug or chemist) and it cleared them up. Took some months to clear up tho. Does Bio oil work on acne scars??? =S?
