Will my severe acne scars ever go away? its been like a year!?

my face used to be so beautiful. light caramel. now that I am 18 I have developed cystic acne and the marks are so black its a noticeable contrast on my light brown skin. What should I do? ANd lightening cream only makes it worse...Will my severe acne scars ever go away? its been like a year!?
They will! It will take you more than one year though. I'm in my late 20's and look younger then I did back then.
